- What sense do you get when reading Phil. 1:3-4 about Paul’s relationship with the Philippian church members? Do you think that Paul’s response is something you share today?

- Christians can be a great joy, but also the cause of great pain. How is this seen in 1:12-18? What do you make of Paul’s final thought in verse 18?
