- How does Paul’s descriptions in Romans 12:4-21 and 1 Corinthians 12:12-30 affect your view of Christian community?
A. What benefits do you get from your community group?
B. What benefits do you provide?
- Read 1 Corinthians 1:10 and 9:20-23. Compare these passages with research that shows the gospel spreads faster if there are fewer barriers between people, i.e., when they have more in common
C. Should we organize community groups by things people have in common, e.g., military, ethnicity, language, gender, shared interests, etc.? Why or why not?
D. What benefits would there be in organizing with diversity of membership as a priority? What challenges?
E. How does Hebrews 13:1-2 speak into developing and sustaining community groups?
- Acts 16:29-32 and Ephesians 2:8-9 describe the essence of salvation. How can community groups advance the cause of salvation and spiritual maturity in ways that are not possible by church attendance alone?
- Read James 5:16. How far do you take confession to one another in your community group?
