- After reading the passage for this week, explain how the Great Commission is a shift in ministry from the Old Testament?
a. How is 1 Kings 10:1-5 an example of the centripetal model?
b. How does Acts 8:1-2 provide an example of shifting to a centrifugal ministry mindset and God’s sovereignty?
c. While the church had primarily remained in Jerusalem, how does Acts 8:4-8 show the outcome of shifting?
- How is Jesus an example of being sent out and going – as opposed to the “come, see and experience” ministry model of Judaism?
a. Read John 20:21, Luke 4:18-19, Philippians 2:6-8
b. In what ways can church ministry be more “sent out” and not “come, see and experience” (centripetal vs. centrifugal)?
c. How can churches function in a way that hinders missions?

- How does 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 support the truth that missions is a ministry of reconciliation?
a. Can you think of any examples of missions bringing about reconciliation to people groups?
- Every member of church is to live ‘on mission’ in their culture. Are you living to spread the Gospel and make disciples? If so, how? If not then how can you be this? What changes can you make to support reaching your culture and making disciples?
