- Read Colossians 1:26-27. What is your understanding of a mystery in these verses?
a. According to these verses, what is God’s relationship to mysteries?
b. What was it about John Newton’s life that made it seem to him a mystery that he was saved?
c. Can you relate any of this to your own life?
- Read Galatians 1:15-18 and 2 Corinthians 11:24-28. How did these two passages reveal God’s stewardship of Paul to reach the Gentiles? What qualities do you think these experiences gave Paul for ministry?
a. In what way do you, we as a church, make sacrifices today for ministry?
b. How does a church community demonstrate joy in their relationships? (see Colossians 1:23, 2:2, 1:3-4)
- Has God called you into ministry?
a. Are there specific people you are working to reach?
b. What things get in the way of accomplishing this? How can you change this?
c. How do these verses guide you in what to do:
i. Col. 1:28? (What things today need warning)
ii. Col. 2:2-3? (Are they secure in their faith?)
