Ministry Update 8.15.20
Most of you should be aware that Guam is going back to PCOR1 tonight. Ugh. That was my reaction because I was hopeful that we were slowly progressing back to normal. Being that it is so close to Sunday our response will be to live stream our service and close our campus for these two weeks. Any on campus ministry will have to postpone for the next two weeks as well. On campus ministries such as young adults, women’s bible study, and the various small discipleships need to pause while our Wednesday high school night will postpone their fall launch.
This week our Sunday service will look a lot like our summer vespers. Steve W. is teaching on our “Belong in Community” value. We will use the 10:30 a.m. time slot as a live stream and then it will post on FB and social media for later viewing. Sermon notes and small group questions will be made available through social media as well.
I know the last time we were told this was for two weeks it ended up extending much longer. I am praying that this time it is only two weeks. Most of us feel the strain of these restrictive guidelines. Remember the words of James 1:2-3, “Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” Endurance is the goal, but joy is the challenge. Let us not grow fruits of murmuring, angst or bitterness—but rather demonstrate that our joy is rooted in Christ. I pray that our community can make the best of these times.
