Learn More About Us
Bayview Church exists to spread the joy of Jesus on Guam and beyond.
Our Mission
“At Bayview Church, hear the good news of Jesus Christ, find community, and live out the Gospel in the culture of Guam.”
1
Hear the good news of Jesus Christ
All of our actions, inside and outside the church, are guided by the good news of the coming of Christ. Solid Gospel teaching is the foundation of all our ministries and activities.
Find community
The greatest strength of our church is the body, or community, of those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We reflect Christ’s two great commandments by loving and serving God, as well as loving and serving one another.

Live out the Gospel in the culture of Guam
We grow our faith through regular attendance at Sunday services and via our smaller community groups. Both venues increase our ability to reach the various cultures of Guam to spread the Gospel
Who We Are
We’re a loving community of believers preaching Christ’s message of hope to the island of Guam.
Our Values
The core values of any church reflect who they are and what they believe
Christ
We want to spread a passion for the glories of Christ’s Gospel. The Gospel is the beginning, middle, and end of all ministry. This centrality of the Gospel is what makes every believer able to contribute powerfully to the lives of others.
Community
When we become believers in Christ, God places us into a new community, His church. We believe that Christian growth happens best in smaller groups where believers can care for one another and “do life” together.
Culture
Guam is a uniquely diverse and multicultural island. Our members implement Christ’s Great Commission to go and make believers by fully engaging the cultures here, living with and serving the people of Guam as an example of salt and light in the world.
Our History
Bayview Church was founded in the 1950s as Bayview Baptist Church by missionaries Norm and Joyce Wethers. Pastor Norm and Joyce originally came to Guam to minister to the many military personnel stationed in Guam after World War II. Starting out as a home-based ministry with Bible Studies, home cooked meals, and Christian fellowship for the many single service members, Pastor Norm realized there was much more need in the community. Soon the ministry grew to include a diverse congregation of US military and federal government employees, as well as civilian families of business people and teachers who had made their way to Guam for service and opportunities since the end of the war.
Through the years Bayview has faced many challenges, trials, and typhoons. In its history, its facilities have been ravaged several times by typhoon winds and completely destroyed twice, once in 1962 and the last time in 2002.
Through it all, however, the Lord has been faithful and His people have persevered. In 2007 almost exactly 50 years after Bayview was founded we completed our all-new multi-million dollar typhoon-resistant facilities. Bayview is now well positioned in the Guam community to be a “…city on a hill…” and we look forward to seeing what the Lord is going to do through His church in Guam in the years to come.
Our Partnerships
Bayview Church is an autonomous local church in affiliation with the Pacific Church Network. A local church needs other local churches to carry out the mission which Christ has entrusted to all churches, and is therefore partnered with other Gospel believing churches on the island through the Guam Ministerial Association.
